PERLYNKA, folk group
The Perlynka group was formed in 1997 by Maiia Saipel. "Perlynka" is a leading folk group in its region.
The concert activity, the activity of the director and the hard work of the group members have been given successes and awards. And in 1998 it was given the honorary title of Exemplary.
Today, Junior Group “Perlynka” consists of 40 boys and girls ranging from age 3 to 17.
Senior Group employs 20 people aged 18-50 years old.
The folk group "Perlynka" has been conducting extensive research throughout its entire activity, organizing expeditions to various villages in the region. The main goal of these journeys is to preserve intangible cultural heritage. The group members record ancient songs, rituals, folk tales, and traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation but may be lost over time.
The repertoire is a varied musical palette of folk rites, games, songs and dances of different genres and characters, acapella and orchestral folklore music are performed too.
The orchestra of the group uses traditional music instruments.
Original folk costumes of the beginning XX century and those created accordingly tov the tradition, which were gathered during the folk expeditions in Ukrainian Volyn region, are used as the stage clothing of the group. Each costume is exclusive and unique!
The participants of Perlynka conduct workshops on authentic folk dances and children's games studying.
“Perlynka” stands for Ukrainian folk art in many International festivals around the world.
In the past years Exemplary folk group “Perlynka” has proudly performed at the following International festivals:
Ukraine, Poland, Czechy, Bulgaria,Greece, Turkey, Croatia, Germany, Estonia, Lithuania, Slovenia, Macedonia, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands.
For the last three years, the folk group «Perlynka» has been doing volunteer work. They organize fairs, concerts, and workshops. All the money goes to help the Ukrainian Armed Forces and people affected by the war.
